In good 'ol 2006 BRIGHTBLACK MORNING LIGHT
released this self titled album after many years of living outside,
away from any lightbulbs, walls & malls.
This experimental lifestyle was in opposition to what we have all been told is the normal modern design to accept, in an effort to live closer to the life giving elements.
The dedicated friendship of Shineywater & Hughes began with a focus to simply make music calling on the roots of their rural Alabama upbringing,
& was acknowledged in 2006 by the release of this album which includes prismatic rainbow glasses.
These paper glasses made by the request of Shineywater, encourage magic where they may have been none before....
The cover artwork for the Lp is by N. Shineywater, with input of Mariee Sioux & California artist Tmoss.
Hughes & Shineywater are both self taught artists & musicians. This debut Lp is a gathering of some of the talented friends they had met while on tour in the USA & playing their own style of musical shows in Northern California:
Andy Macleod (White Magic), Paz Lenchantin (Zwan, A Perfect Circle, Papa M), Eli Reitz, Anne McCrary & Gail West, two gospel singers from Tennessee.
This 2006 record is still available on Vinyl & CD & would not have been possible without the financial help of Matador Records in NYC.

HONORING OUR PEOPLED INFLUENCES
Many, many years prior to BBML, N. Shineywater held ceremony with Western Shoshone spiritual leader Corbin Harney,
who was on tour to educate about proposed nuclear waste storage in the sacred mountains of his homeland, an area called Yucca Mountain.
"I was not the same after this song-prayer, this Shoshone's intention worked, through his song I became aware of the web of Life we all share," tells N. Shineywater.

To honor the impact of the Western Shoshone & Corbin Harney, BBML founder N. Shineywater would like to encourage everyone to see a film released in 2008, "American Outrage."
